Building a sustainable tomorrowBAM are looking to recruit experienced and motivated Commercial Managers who can strengthen our existing team, delivering large civil engineering projects across Scotland. The projects are predominantly within the energy infrastructure sector, building new substations and HVDC converter stations to support Scotland\’s transition to net Zero. We currently have opportunities to join our ASTI onshore team; these are expected to last for 2-3 years. The projects are located near Inverness-shire and along the Moray coast. You will be required to work out of our area offices initially which are located in Inverness and Kilsyth before going onto site for project delivery.

Your missionAs a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain effective communications with the Framework Director, Regional Commercial Manager, project management and other associated disciplines and enhance the profile of commercial services
- Be responsible for staff matters which may include staff succession awareness, recruitment, development, attitude and behavioural issues, competency and retainment issues, staff allocation
- Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents
- Ensure audits are carried out and feedback is provided to the business
- Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary, client\’s representatives
- Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions / reviews
- Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy
- Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and company tied costs. Obtain cash-flow information and present all reports
- Provide input to dispute identification and management
- Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurer\’s representatives
- Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants and monitor their accounts
- Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation
- Carry out sub-contract document vetting and input to sub-contract documentation
Who are we looking for?
- Successful experience as a Commercial Manager working with multiple projects and with a minimum of 4 years in this role
- Joint Venture experience
- Member of a Professional Institution or working towards application of the ICES, or similar
- Open collaborative approach and willing to help and assist those around you
- Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction or Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential)
