Role Overview
We’re looking for a proactive and strategically minded PMO Portfolio Lead to drive visibility, alignment, and governance across our change portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about driving visibility, alignment, and continuous improvement across strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a PMO, Portfolio Office, or similar role within a technology or transformation function.
- Strong understanding of portfolio and project governance, frameworks, and tooling.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement across all levels.
- A proactive, collaborative, and improvement-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Practical knowledge of demand and capacity planning , including tools and techniques to balance workload and resourcing.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio & Financial Oversight: Maintain an up-to-date portfolio view of all active and planned initiatives, tracking delivery, spend, and value. Support budget planning, forecasting, and resource alignment.
- Agile Reporting & Insight: Create dashboards and reporting packs that provide visibility of milestones, blockers, risks, and dependencies. Tailor insights for CIO and leadership updates.
- Governance & Risk Management: Embed consistent portfolio governance and risk management practices, enabling early identification and escalation of issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Finance, and Corporate Planning to align strategic goals with delivery outcomes.
- Communications & Engagement: Lead weekly internal updates and team communications, celebrating achievements and promoting transparency across ONEIT.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps and lead improvements in delivery assurance, PMO processes, and reporting frameworks.
Desirable
- Experience working in an IT or Digital delivery environment.
- Exposure to strategic planning or corporate portfolio functions.
- Familiarity with large-scale technology transformation programmes.
- Experience with Jira, including advanced dashboards, portfolio-level views via Advanced Roadmaps, and cross-team tracking, dependency mapping, and release planning.
