The role offers an exciting opportunity to be based in Warsaw, working with the London and Warsaw teams on complex commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, as well as arbitration-related litigation before the English courts. The London office is a major force in litigation (civil and criminal) and arbitration, with over 25% of the lawyers in the office currently practicing in disputes work.

As a mid-level associate, you will assist the firm’s teams in London and around the world in navigating every stage of international conflicts, from drafting effective arbitration clauses, to conducting high-stakes arbitrations, to enforcing foreign judgments and arbitral awards in local courts around the world. The firm’s disputes practice has a heavy focus on the infrastructure, construction, financial services and energy sectors and therefore experience in these sectors would be a plus.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from US, UK or Poland
  • Bar admission – US, UK, or Poland ideal.
  • MUST HAVE TRAINED IN US OR UK and familiar with US / UK arbitration
  • 3 – 5 year PQE with at least 3 years of arbitration experience, preferably in a large law firm
  • Experience in
  • handling cases under key arbitration rules, and will currently be practicing at a top-ranked practice.
  • having acted in matters conducted under the rules of major arbitral institutions, such as the AAA/ICDR, ICC, LCIA, ICSID, SIAC, SCC, HKIAC, and JCAA, as well as under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules
  • Arbitration / international trade / public international law – representing corporates, financial institutions, states and international organizations in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, and inter-state disputes. Advising on matters of public international law and international trade law.
  • Impeccable fluency in English both written and spoken. Able to draft documents as a native speaker would. Very good command of English and ideally able to also work in Polish.
