About the role:

We’re working with local authorities across Birmingham to fill high-demand frontline roles in:

  • Child Protection (CP)
  • Children in Need (CIN)
  • Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Court & Pre-proceedings
  • Assessment & MASH
  • Children with Disabilities (CWD)
  • Fostering & Permanence

You don’t need experience in all these areas.If you have strong experience in just one of these areas — you’re the kind of social worker we’re looking for. You’ll be matched with teams that suit your background and supported from day one.

What You’ll Be DoingDepending on your skillset, your role could involve:

  • Holding CP, CIN or LAC caseloads
  • Attending strategy meetings, court hearings, or core groups
  • Undertaking S47 assessments and working within the PLO process
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Contributing to care planning, permanence, or placement stability
  • Supporting transitions, family reunification, or foster placement reviews

What You'll need

  • Recognized Social Work qualification
  • Social Work England registration
  • Minimum 2 years of experiencein any statutory children’s service
  • A reflective, child-centered practice approach
  • The ability to work in your local London area (hybrid & in-person work likely)
