The Opportunity
Our client is a highly regarded contractor in the aggregates, civils, minerals and the wider construction industries. The company is seeking to appoint a proven and commercially strategic Operations Manager to drive its next phase of growth. This senior role offers the opportunity for someone to shape the company’s site projects key customer relationships and major public and private sector opportunities in the evolving earthworks landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic leadership team to deliver long-term sustainable growth. This is a senior appointment, reporting directly to the board, with an attractive remuneration package including performance-based incentives aligned to contract success and strategic growth. The position will be based out of the company\’s South Wales based HQ, with regular travel each week to client sites across Gloucestershire, Glamorgan, Worcestershire, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and other nearby areas.
The Role
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s operations re. key civils contracting projects.
- Build and manage high-value client relationships with tier-one contractors, framework stakeholders, developers, and public sector partners.
- Oversee P&L for this civils contracting division, leading on core client projects.
- Represent the business at industry forums, tenders, and pre-bid meetings.
- Work collaboratively with commercial teams to ensure delivery excellence matches client expectations.
- Feed market intelligence back to the board, shaping long-term growth & bidding strategies.
Job Skills
- Experienced operations leadership background within construction, civils, or infrastructure sectors.
- Comfortable overseeing complex civils contracting projects.
- P&L experience before.
- Knowledge of the UK quarrying / minerals sector or bulk-earthworks projects
- Successful applicants will have proven operations skills, alongside excellent presentation & communication skills and will be proficient in the use of Microsoft office and CRM tools.
