We have a new opportunity for a Connections Development Manager to join our Battery Box Development Team.
You will lead and manage all aspects of grid connection activities for projects connecting to the GB distribution and transmission networks, working closely with the Connections Manager to support a diverse and growing portfolio of energy projects across the UK.\\n\\nIn addition to grid connections, the role also offers opportunities to be involved in other key areas of development within the Battery Team, such as site identification, supporting planning applications, and working on legal agreements with landowners.\\n\\nIf you’re driven, collaborative, and ready to make a real impact in a growing business committed to decarbonisation – we want to hear from you.\\n\\nThe role will involve:\\n\\nGrid Application Management:\\n\\nPrepare and submit grid connection applications to DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid ESO\\n\\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of application requirements, connection codes, and relevant regulations\\n\\nOffer Review and Cost Engineering:\\n\\nReview and interpret connection offers, identifying errors, risks, and opportunities for cost savings\\n\\nLiaise with technical experts to evaluate technical and commercial terms of offers\\n\\nProject Tracking and Delivery:\\n\\nMonitor and report progress from application through to energisation\\n\\nCoordinate with network operators, contractors, and internal teams for timely delivery\\n\\nData Management and Reporting:\\n\\nMaintain accurate project information in internal systems\\n\\nProvide regular updates to the Development team and senior management\\n\\nStakeholder Engagement:\\n\\nAct as the main contact for all grid connection matters with external stakeholders\\n\\nRepresent company interests in industry workshops, meetings, and consultations\\n\\nSupport Development Team:\\n\\nAssess site suitability through mapping tools and feasibility studies\\n\\nAssist in identifying new opportunities and assessing project potential\\n\\nEngage with landowners and agents to secure land for projects\\n\\nNegotiate landowner agreements\\n\\nPerform additional duties relevant to the level of the role\\n\\nWhat we are looking for:\\n\\nA passionate and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing the following experience and skills:\\n\\nDeep understanding of GB distribution and transmission networks and connection processes\\n\\nFamiliarity with the Distribution Code and key Engineering Recommendations (G99, G100, P28, G5)\\n\\nKnowledge of the Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC)\\n\\nStrong IT skills with ability to learn industry-specific software quickly\\n\\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills\\n\\nAbility to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines\\n\\nEnthusiasm for renewable energy and low-carbon technologies\\n\\nSelf-motivated, adaptable, and resilient under pressure\\n\\nStrong interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and stakeholders\\n\\nWhat we offer:\\n\\nWe foster a culture based on honesty, collaboration, and enjoyment, with a workplace where everyone feels heard and valued.\\n\\nThe innovative spirit of the Battery Box team encourages personal growth, accountability, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
