Senior Claims Adjuster – Marine & Energy
London
Negotiable Salary + Excellent Benefits
We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster – Marine & Energy, on behalf of a very highly regarded Lloyd’s/London Market Insurer.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the claims adjudication process for Upstream Energy and Marine classes, providing management and clients with an efficient and effective claims service.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and acting upon first notifications and updates, determining coverage.
- Establishing and maintaining reserves.
- Carrying out negotiations with Brokers, face to face when required.
- Handling claims electronically predominately via market systems and DocoSoft.
- Managing third party experts.
- Supervising and monitoring organisations where the syndicate has delegated claims authority.
- Notifying and reporting claims notifications to underwriters and senior management where necessary.
Key Requirements
- Experience in handling some or all of the following classes of business: Cargo, Fine Art & Specie, Marine Hull, Marine Liability, Crisis Management, Political Risk / Trade Credit, Upstream Energy, Syndicate 2019 claims.
- Experience in Treaty and Aviation, would be an advantage.
- Qualified or studying towards ACII.
- Detailed understanding of the London Market.
- Full working knowledge of market systems and DocoSoft.
- Litigation, mediation, dispute resolution and deposition skills.
- Use of internal underwriting and claims systems and relevant software packages.
- Ability to identify trends and understand how these may affect Claims and the Syndicate more broadly.
