Project Director

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a large-scale new-build data centre in Slough. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for programme execution, client interface, commercial performance, and delivery certainty on a mission-critical asset.

You will operate at board and investor level while maintaining firm control over project teams, contractors, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities

Programme & Delivery Leadership

• Overall accountability for end-to-end delivery of a new-build data centre
• Ownership of programme, cost, quality, safety, and risk
• Ensure delivery aligns with agreed milestones, budgets, and client expectations

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as primary senior interface with the end client, investors, and key stakeholders
• Chair senior steering groups and project governance forums
• Provide clear, confident reporting on progress, risk, and mitigation

Commercial & Contractual Oversight

• Full responsibility for commercial performance and cost control
• Manage contractual strategy across consultants, main contractors, and specialist trades
• Drive early resolution of claims, variations, and commercial risk

Team Leadership

• Lead and coordinate Project Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial Managers, and consultants
• Set a high-performance culture across site and off-site teams
• Ensure strong alignment between design, procurement, and construction

Technical & Risk Management

• Oversight of critical MEP systems (power, cooling, resilience, redundancy)
• Proactively manage technical, programme, and supply-chain risk
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, client, and data-centre-specific requirements

Required Experience & Profile

• Proven experience as Project Director / Senior Project Lead on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects
• Strong background in new-build construction (ideally Tier III / Tier IV environments)
• Deep understanding of MEP-led construction and commissioning
• Commercially astute with strong contract management capability
• Confident operating at senior client, investor, and board level
• Track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time, and on budget
