BEAR Scotland is at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing Scotland\’s transport infrastructure. As part of an alliance between Vinci, Jacobs, and Breedon, BEAR Scotland handles two of Scotland\’s four Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts, alongside DBFO contracts like M80 Stepps-Haggs and A92 Dundee-Arbroath. With a focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation, BEAR Scotland plays a key role in shaping Scotland\’s road network.

The Opportunity

Prime Workforce, on behalf of BEAR Scotland, is looking for a detail-oriented Asset Inspector to support the ongoing management and maintenance of Scotland\’s road network. This role involves inspecting road assets such as roads, bridges, and other infrastructure, ensuring they are in optimal condition and ready for maintenance or repair.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inspect Road Infrastructure: Conduct regular inspections of roads, bridges, and related infrastructure to assess their condition and identify maintenance needs.
  2. Asset Condition Reporting: Record and report findings of inspections, documenting any defects, damages, or areas in need of improvement.
  3. Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all inspections meet industry standards and comply with safety regulations.
  4. Coordinate with Teams: Work closely with project managers, road maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to share findings and support effective planning for repairs or upgrades.
  5. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, performance reports, and maintenance recommendations.
  6. Support Maintenance Planning: Provide input into the planning of road maintenance schedules and priorities based on asset conditions.
  7. Promote Best Practices: Contribute to continuous improvements in inspection processes and safety practices.

Skills and Experience

  4. Attention to Detail: Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify potential issues and ensure thorough documentation.
