Farm Manager – Location: South Somerset Salary: Up to £35,000 (includes a house) House is easy access to schools and supermarkets. No restrictions on occupancy apart from it is only available whist working for the company. Job Purpose We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to ensure the effective and profitable management of our broiler chicken farm. This role involves overseeing operations while adhering to all safety, environmental, and welfare standards. Key Responsibilities * Maintain the health and welfare of broiler chickens under Freedom Food or Red Tractor contracts. * Manage feed, water, and the Hotraco System. * Keep accurate and tidy daily records. * Order feed and consumables in a timely, cost-effective manner. * Oversee chicken catching and contract cleaners. * Take a hands-on approach to maintenance or supervise contractors. * Ensure grass cutting and strimming are maintained by the farm assistant. * Assist with routine and spot audits. * Perform other duties related to the Farm Manager role as required. Experience Required * Previous experience managing broiler chickens is essential. * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. * Experience with farm machinery and basic maintenance is desirable. Requirements * Must have your own transport due to the rural location. Perks: This position comes with a house as part of the package. The company pays for the council tax .Electric and gas is at the cost of the employee. Please be aware that this is a 6 day week and weekend work is essential, you will be required to work every other weekend. Commutable from the following locations, providing the successful candidate has a current driving licence and own vehicle..
