CMM Operator – Wellingborough - £24.75/hr (6am – 2pm) and £26.10/hr (2pm – 10pm) – Outside IR35 Step into a role where precision meets innovation! What You Will Do: Operate Zeiss and Mitutoyo CMM equipment to perform precise measurement, inspection, and testing of machined components such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and structural BIW parts. Use pre-prepared inspection programmes and mount fixtures and products onto the CMM bed with appropriate lifting equipment. Conduct product measurements as part of inspection criteria for parts at specified intervals, including validation after start-up, breakdowns, or adjustments. Support new product prove-out processes, ensuring all measurements meet strict quality standards. Utilise additional measurement tools such as surface measurement devices, height gauges, and bore gauges to ensure comprehensive inspections. Maintain clear and effective communication with interdepartmental teams to uphold quality and safety standards. What You Will Bring: Experience operating CMM measuring machines, ideally with Zeiss (Calypso) and Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS) systems. Will consider other CMM machines. Solid knowledge of metrology and experience using other gauging equipment. Background in precision manufacturing environments such as automotive or aerospace industries. Vocational qualifications in engineering (BTEC National, ONC, or higher) are advantageous but not essential. A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and reliability.
