The Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Technical Writer to own and evolve the documentation function across the company’s product portfolio. This is a critical role within the engineering organisation, working cross-functionally with Product, UX, and Engineering to deliver clean, accessible, and accurate technical documentation. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position is fully remote within Northern Ireland, collaborating with distributed teams in the US and UK
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including user guides, release notes, technical specifications, and best practices
• Translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
• Develop internal templates and workflows to streamline the documentation lifecycle
• Own and manage the change log and release documentation across multiple product lines
• Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and formatting across all documents and help improve the end-user experience
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand new features and changes and ensure timely documentation updates
• Write supporting copy for GUI, API, and CLI as needed
• Operate and maintain documentation platforms and tooling
Essential Criteria:
• Degree in a relevant field OR 4+ years of professional experience in a technical writing role
• At least 4 years of experience writing technical documentation for software products
• Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and structure
• Ability to read and understand code and technical diagrams
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and modern infrastructure tooling
• Experience using GitHub or other version control platforms
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote setup
Desirable Experience ( But not necessary to apply)
• Exposure to cloud-native technologies and DevOps workflows
• Familiarity with documentation tools such as Hugo, Docsy, or ClickHelp
• Experience documenting APIs and developer tools
