Role overview

Responsible for implementing process optimization, standardization, development and training of troubleshooting manuals, developing strategies to reduce product variability, waste, and operating costs. Work closely with the plant managers of the 14 EMEA plants, evaluating and developing blow molding technicians and operators, providing virtual and on-the-job training, and implementing standardized processes to guarantee optimal cost, quality, and colleague safety.

Responsibilities

  1. Leads the work of training plant blow mold operators and leaders on standard production execution, to assure product cost, quality, and colleagues safety.
  2. Provides support, creates, and executes process-related training materials (Industrial Packaging 101) to be deployed on Training Matrix.
  3. Participates in the implementation of new equipment, helping to create work instructions, standardization of work, and training matrix.
  4. Works with Project engineers to elaborate and justify new investments or projects to improve equipment output and automation, reducing the cost per piece produced.
  5. Promotes improvements on production process through Kaizen, VSM, and other lean techniques in conjunction with Opex, emphasizing productivity gains, labor optimization, quality, and seeking new methods or technologies, replicating them in other plants.
  6. Creates statistical analysis, charts, drawings, and reports to illustrate and showcase potential issues within a product lifecycle or business process and how to improve it.
  7. Ensures adherence to existing SOCs & develops and tracks Standard Operating Conditions (SOC\’s) for all major equipment with min/max ranges.
  8. Applies root cause analysis and analytical problem-solving techniques to daily problems and/or misses.
  9. Develops optimum process parameters to achieve desired quality and product certification performance requirements, working with plants to maintain these parameters.
  10. Works closely with OPEX and other support functions to drive A3 continuous improvement projects.
  11. Collaborates with facilities and the Standards and Compliance teams to help define and establish plant labor standards related to LN Item, maintaining the plant labor standards files.

Education & Skills

  1. Bachelor\’s degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
  2. Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
  3. 5-10+ years of experience in the packaging industry focused on blow-molding, including production, maintenance, and process management.
  4. Travel availability is required.
