Youth Worker (Fixed Term)

Various locations in Dumfries and Galloway

The Youth Work Service in Dumfries and Galloway offers an opportunity for adults with experience in working with young people to join an innovative and award-winning youth work team. The team delivers a range of informal learning programmes across Dumfries & Galloway.

You will work 10 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, delivering group work programmes focused on mental health in various locations across Stewartry.

This position is fixed term until March 31, 2026.

Secondment may be possible. Approval from your line manager is required before applying.

You should be motivated and interested in working informally with young people aged 12+ and have experience in youth work or good interpersonal skills.

This challenging and stimulating role is part of a wider team supporting creative youth work activities across Dumfries and Galloway.

All necessary training will be provided.

A current driving licence is essential. If you have a disability preventing you from holding a licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport arrangements are made.

The role requires evening and weekend work, with additional pay included in the salary.

This position is regulated under the PVG Scheme with Vulnerable Children and Adults, as per the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Candidates will need to join or update their PVG scheme before employment begins.

Applicants residing outside the UK within the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence.
