What to expect

The Postmaster Remuneration Advisor is a key member of the Central Finance team, responsible for supporting the delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.

The Postmaster Remuneration Advisor will work as part of the team responsible for ensuring monthly remuneration and any other Expense payments are paid accurately and on time. The role involves maintaining Success Factors with all Postmaster joiner, leaver and changes information.They will act as a main point of contact for all questions relating to Postmaster remuneration whilst displaying a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Job Specific Accountabilities include:

  • Accurately process Postmaster remuneration in line with agreed timelines.
  • Accurately process Postmaster remuneration expense payments in line with agreed timelines.
  • Maintain and update Postmaster details in internal systems (joiners, leavers, changes).
  • Act as the first point of contact for routine Postmaster remuneration queries, providing clear and helpful responses.
  • Carry out data entry and basic financial checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Completion of account balance reconciliations on a daily and monthly basis
  • Determining the necessary accounting entries to correct accounting errors
  • Support the monthly payroll and expense cycle by resolving simple issues promptly.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Good foundational communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
  • Ability to accurately input data and carry out necessary financial control checks.
  • Experience of dealing with payroll or balancing accounts.
  • Desire to undertake a professional qualification would be desirable.
  • Develop and manage key relationships across the business with manager and cross functionally.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor, using their initiative and applying knowledge of their own specialism, to solve common problems
  • Individual contributor able to work autonomously, as well as good interpersonal skills to work as part of a wider team.
