We have an exciting opportunity to join Medina House School providing support for children and families in a special primary school setting as a Speech and Language assistant. You will work closely with the NHS trust who will support your daily work with the children here at Medina House School.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To undertake the necessary training to provide assistance with screening and speech and language interventions in our school setting.
  • Deliver screening and provide interventions, working closely with our teachers, teaching assistants, parents and other health professionals.
  • Carry out specific observations and gather information to contribute to assessments and subsequent plans.
  • Guide parents and carers on children’s individual communication needs such as help with Makaton etc.
  • Deliver targeted and universal support to children with identified needs.
  • Organise caseloads on a day by day basis effectively and efficiently with regards to priorities and use of time, attend staff meetings and participate in reviews where required.

Medina House is a Primary Special School for children with complex learning difficulties aged 4-11. As part of our team you will work for 5 days per week, term time only. Hours to be worked 8:30-15:00pm daily except Wednesdays 8:30-16:00pm.
