Overview
As a Children’s Worker, you will support children and young people with a range of complex needs, helping to create safe, positive and inclusive experiences. Working as part of a supportive team, you will provide consistent, high-quality care and help ensure weekends are structured, engaging and reassuring for the children we support.
This is a weekend-only role, with shifts worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with complex physical and psychological needs
- Provide high standards of personal care, ensuring dignity, comfort and safety
- Plan and deliver activities that reflect individual interests, needs and aspirations
- Support physical health needs, including medication and agreed health interventions
- Act as a Keyworker for identified children and contribute to care planning and reviews
- Follow behaviour support strategies and respond flexibly to children’s needs
- Work closely with families, carers and other professionals
- Maintain clear, accurate records and contribute to service development
About you
You will have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with disabilities and feel confident supporting a range of needs, including behaviour that may be challenging. You may already hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services Children and Young People and HNC level, or be willing to work towards these qualifications. You will be caring, reflective and reliable, with the ability to communicate effectively and work positively as part of a team. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme.
