We are working with an established investment firm in their search for an Assistant Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor to support their real estate ventures.
Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the firm\’s construction projects, ensuring that costs are controlled, contracts are managed effectively and projects are delivered on time.
Previous experience of construction contracts, cost management, and risk assessment.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts, ensuring accurate costing and effective cost control throughout the project
- Assist with preparing tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities
- Evaluate bids, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, and manage procurement
- Manage contracts, including JCT, NEC, or other standard forms of contact, ensuring compliance and effective dispute resolution
- Conduct regular valuations of work completed and manage the payment cycle from start to finish
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Prepare regular financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, including cash flow projections and cost analyses
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. MRICS, CIOB, or equivalent) are highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (QS)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.) and procurement processes
- Proficient in QS software and other relevant tools
- Willing to travel regionally
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
