We offer flexible working based out of Leatherhead, South Mimms, or Dartford, with travel to projects or other offices as required. There is also a requirement for site visits, including night shift health and safety audits, as needed.
This role is available on a full-time, part-time, or job-share basis, because we want the best people for our roles — and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.
Your Role
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a project background to join our fast-paced team. You’ll be responsible for delivering lower-risk highways and technology schemes in the portfolio, or supporting the delivery of more complex schemes.
Project delivery will span the full lifecycle — from feasibility through to handover. Schemes range in value from £100k to £3m+, and include safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology upgrades, remedial works, and junction improvements.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects at different stages of the lifecycle. Within each project, your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end project management, including scheme development and engagement with asset teams, designers, sub-consultants, construction teams, and contractors.
- Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, including Planners, Construction Managers, Project QSs, Asset teams, and Designers.
- Managing the P6 programme with the planning team, identifying critical path activities.
- Overseeing commercial aspects, including cost plans, supply chain quotations, invoice approvals, forecasting, and application reviews with the commercial team.
- Commissioning and managing internal and external resources, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are met.
- Leading project gateways and collaborative cost reviews with the client and project team.
- Applying project governance procedures, including preparing and presenting documentation for gateway reviews.
- Routine reporting on project schedule, progress, risks, and commercial status — both internally and to the client.
- Engaging in the Collaborative M25 Community, including Balanced Scorecards, forums, and workshops.
- Supporting the delivery of sustainability initiatives and business plan objectives.

Working Arrangements
- Travel required to CPS/supplier offices on the M25 network, approximately three days per week.
- Periodic site visits required.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Project management experience, ideally supported by a recognised qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, APMP).
- A degree-level qualification and membership of a relevant professional institution (or working towards it).
- Broad knowledge and understanding of highways or structures engineering and associated design disciplines.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and other health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to highway engineering.
- Knowledge of the NEC (New Engineering Contract) and other relevant forms of contract.
