Role: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Reporting to: Site Manager
Business: THG Nutrition, Manufacturing
Location: 3, Amy Johnson Court, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool FY4 2RP
Hours: 40 Hours per week, Mon-Fri
Description of role
The Multi-Skilled Engineer will be a key part of the engineering team. You will be responsible for health and safety, quality, food safety compliance, and the reliability/efficiency of specific assets within manufacturing. This includes planning, executing, and developing maintenance activities.
The role is primarily based at our nutrition supplement manufacturing site in Blackpool, with some coverage required at our ingredients site in Stoke on Trent. Travel to other THG locations may also be necessary, so the ability to travel within the UK is essential.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure asset groups comply with all health & safety, quality, and food safety standards.
- Plan preventative maintenance, requesting parts, materials, and labor support as needed.
- Perform planned, breakdown, and preventative maintenance using engineering skills.
- Develop existing maintenance procedures within CMMS based on feedback, audits, and reliability data.
- Analyze loss data, report findings, and develop asset-specific reliability and efficiency improvement plans.
- Complete stock criticality matrix and optimize stock holdings in CMMS.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) processes and action plans for major losses.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders through clear reporting.
- Coach operators to develop understanding and cross-training on assets.
- Support project activities and change initiatives as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Time-served Engineer.
- Minimum ONC/HNC in a relevant discipline.
- Strong mechanical and electrical multi-skill set (mechanical bias preferred).
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in nutrition supplement or pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially tablet and capsule press operations, is advantageous.
- Experience with CMMS utilization and development.
- Understanding of health & safety, quality, and food safety standards in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of modern maintenance techniques.
- Good communication skills.
