We are looking for cheerful and positive individuals who would like to make a difference to the people we support, to come and join our team. Our Domiciliary Service requires Support Workers to join us in making a substantial difference to the lives of the people we support within our Adult Disability Service.

Caring and reliable Support Worker\’s to work within the Lancaster and Morecambe Domiciliary Service in Adult Social Care at Lancashire County Council.

We are looking for cheerful and positive individuals who would like to make a difference to the people we support, to come and join our team. Our Domiciliary Service requires Support Workers to join us in making a substantial difference to the lives of the people we support within our Adult Disability Service.

You will be welcomed into people\’s homes and make their day-to-day routine something to look forward to with your upbeat attitude and friendly persona. It is not essential that you have a background in Health and Social Care, you just need to have a good heart and a caring nature. We provide all the required training to ensure you get the most from your role, with qualifications on offer it\’s a great opportunity to progress in this service and turn it into a career to be proud of!

The posts are for 37 hours per week, which will include some sleep-in\’s & weekend working.

What we are looking for…

Passion – we want to recruit people with a passion to make a difference to the people we supports\’ lives, providing much needed support like it\’s second nature – your commitment to the people we support will be life changing in the work you do, bringing comfort with a warm smile and a cup of tea – you will become indispensable supporting people with personal care, household chores, finances, medication and anything else they require in their day to day life – you will support people into the community to participate in activities, keeping their spirits high, maybe a shopping trip or outdoor activities, whatever it takes to bring them smiles and happiness – you will be changing outlooks and breaking down those barriers that they face on a daily basis.

Empathy & Resilience – you will have an understanding of the challenges the people we support deal with which means an empathic nature is of upmost importance – you will need bags of motivation and be able to keep going even on the more difficult days – the needs of our service users can be complex and you may face challenging behaviour but your determination and dedication to excellent care will make it feel easy – it is essential that you are able to communicate clearly and effectively with every individual providing reassurance and positivity.

Reward – this role is one of the most rewarding that you will be find, seeing the difference you have made to a person\’s life right before your eyes – the smallest things go a long way and you will be relied upon to continue with your endless support and guidance – From commencing in post, you will be supported in this position with an induction programme and mandatory training to complete. The Adult Disability Service also promotes career development opportunities with various qualifications and training on offer – you will be able to take advantage of an apprenticeship which is NVQ Level 3 equivalent – we also have very supportive management team who ensure all team members are guided, great culture and you\’ll be working alongside people with the same values as your own.
