A client within the Public Sector based in the Northeast is currently recruiting for a Development Engineer to join their Transport, Highways and Engineering team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Highways and Engineering environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for providing highway and development advice in relation to development control and consultation support to the planning service. You will support the Service Lead in positively contributing to the achievement of the Council and Service core values and strategies. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Acting as the highway authority's statutory consultee and providing advice on highway planning and development matters under The Town & Country Planning Act. Preparing and managing legal agreements in compliance with the Highways Act 1980 for development sites, including managing Section 38, Section 278, and Section 116 agreements. Maintaining the authority's highway adoption records and managing street naming and numbering. Supervising development works for compliance with design standards in conjunction with the Highways Unadopted New Development Officer.
