Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a Curriculum Lead within the Health and Social Care department at Sandwell College. This permanent position is ideal for an experienced and committed colleague who is ready to take on a leadership role and contribute to the continued growth and success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will carry a full teaching load (currently 890 hours per annum) while leading and coordinating curriculum teams across specified subject areas. You will support the Head of Curriculum with operational staffing matters, contribute to curriculum design, and ensure timely and effective delivery of study programmes.
Your role will also include liaising with awarding bodies, supporting internal verification processes, and ensuring robust learner progress tracking and progression, including UCAS applications and IAG.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
- A degree and/or relevant professional qualification
- A Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards this)
- Experience of teaching in post-16 education, including A Levels and Vocational Qualifications
- A sound knowledge of curriculum developments in Further Education
- The ability to lead, inspire, and support teams
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A strong commitment to promoting high standards, inclusivity, and learner success
You must be flexible, collaborative, and ready to work across sites and participate in key events such as open evenings, interviews, and enrolment.
