We\’re currently hiring Production Operatives for temporary, ongoing roles at Caterpillar\’s Larne facility.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assembling, sub-assemblies, options and other components of generator sets.
- Works from prints and standard work instructions to produce components of generator sets and similar large assemblies.
- Works across various areas of the business, including, but not limited to, machine shop, paintline, nutsert and assembly.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Compliance with the 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
- Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
- Train other employees if and when required.
- Any other appropriate duties.
Required Qualifications:
- The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
- Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns
- Good communication skills, experience working in a team environment
Desired Qualifications:
- The ability to use hand tools, power tools, and to be able to read and interpret drawings.
- Previous experience working in a lean environment.
- Previous electrical/mechanical experience.
- Experience working to takt times.
- Reasonable level of computer literacy where required.

Hours of work and salary:
- Day Shift – 13.33/hr.
- Night Shift – 17.77/hr.
- Overtime – 19.99/hr (First ten hours)
- Overtime – 26.65/hr. (After ten hours overtime)
- 37.5 hours per week. (Mon – Thurs)
Shifts:
Day shift- Monday: 07:00 – 17:15, Tues – Thurs: 07:00 -16:45,
Night shift- Monday: 21:00 – 07:15, Tues – Thurs: 21:00 – 06:45
Shift times may vary depending on work location within the facility.
