Trelleborg Polyurethane Products provides innovative polymer-based solutions for key industries within the Shipbuilding, Rail and Industry sectors. We are a standalone product area positioned within three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group, who have a total of around 16,800 employees around the world.

We are looking for a motivated and diligent Sales Engineer / Estimator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience in technical sales and cost estimation. You’ll work closely with expert team members to learn how to analyse project requirements, prepare quotations, and support the sales process. About The Job

The successful applicant will be responsible for building costing estimations and quotations, after analysing project requirements. These estimations and proposals are expected to be acceptable at a technical level, meet the customer requirements as well as costed in accordance with the relevant procedures.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment.

Establishing and managing relationships with contractors, vendors and customers.

Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame.

Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done.

Determining the level of Design Engineering required when formulating a quotation to deliver the customer expectations within a given timescale.

The Ideal Candidate

The position calls for a candidate that has strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and accompanying packages, knowledge or an understanding of 3D modelling software would be desirable. Knowledge in the sales and estimating process would be helpful, including experience with negotiation and influencing situations. High proficiency in numeracy and excellent listening and speaking skills is needed. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Communication is key for this role, interacting with internal and external partners, including building strong customer relationships. Therefore we want someone who has positive relationship building skills with an ability to connect with staff at all levels. Being self motivated and results driven, with problem solving and time management skills to ensure goals, budgets and deadlines are adhered to.
