Job Description

As a Support Worker with CrossReach’s Threshold Support Services, you’ll help adults live more independently, stay connected to their community and enjoy experiences that make life meaningful, from everyday moments to special holidays away.

What Your Day Could Involve

* Offering warm, compassionate care that respects dignity and individuality
* Working one to one with people to support their goals and aspirations
* Helping individuals stay connected with family, friends and their community
* Supporting physical care needs and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles
* Assisting with meaningful activities, from hobbies to holidays
* Communicating effectively with people who have limited verbal skills
* Responding calmly and positively to stressed or distressed behaviours

About You

You are kind, patient and reliable, with a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Experience in care is welcome but not essential, as we will give you all the training and support you need to succeed.

You will hold SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or be willing to work towards it, and have basic IT skills to support accurate record keeping. Flexibility is important, as shifts include evenings, weekends and occasional holidays away.

You should also be comfortable working within and supporting the Christian values and ethos of CrossReach.
