Secondment Opportunity (6 Months)
Full Time – 37 hours per week

A full time secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional to join Finance – Inclusion and Learning. If you are an effective communicator and inspiring team leader with first class interpersonal skills we want to hear from you.
Excellent IT and analytical skills with a sound understanding of accounting principles are also essential, as is the ability to organise and prioritise often conflicting workloads to achieve results accurately and on time.
It is an exciting time to be joining our finance team, we have several key transformation projects getting under way which will define our service for years to come.
As a finance professional you will have a critical role in shaping and leading our service, ensuring systems are fit for purpose, remain relevant in an ever-changing environment, and deliver our fundamental purpose of securing excellent financial stewardship and probity.
Role
Principal Accountant – Inclusion and Learning
Providing strategic and operational financial management advice and support across the Inclusion and Learning Service, particularly the challenges within High Needs Block and Devon\’s Safety Valve Agreement. Interpreting Government guidance and legislation, assessing the impact and providing advice to Members, Senior Managers, Schools and Providers on the implications for Devon County Council and co-ordinating returns to the Department of Education will form part of this role\’s responsibilities.
