SASP Community Resilience Young People Mentor

Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) is seeking a full-time Community Resilience Young People Mentor to support young people aged 8-25 years through a relationship-based approach. Our team helps young people facing adverse childhood experiences, family or school difficulties, risk of exclusion, or behavioural challenges, by engaging them in sport and physical activities.

Salary: £23,900 to £25,250

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Fixed Term (4 years)

Location: Countywide

About the Role

Our work aims to foster positive self-perception, raise aspirations, and create safe, enjoyable environments where young people can make friends, gain independence, and engage with their communities. We seek individuals with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by these young people, including knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma. Experience in this area, whether personal, professional, or voluntary, is essential. All mentors will receive training in restorative practice, first aid, safeguarding, and more.
