AAT/ACCA Trainee Accountant

The Role
Our client, a growing independent accountancy firm based in Henfield, West Sussex, is looking to recruit an AAT/ACCA Trainee Accountant to join their small, supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning or already partway through their professional accountancy training and looking to gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of clients and accountancy services.

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts
  • Support with VAT returns, bookkeeping, and reconciliations
  • Liaise with clients to obtain and clarify financial information
  • Learn and apply accountancy procedures and reporting standards
  • Work closely with a dedicated supervisor for training and development
  • Study towards AAT or ACCA qualifications with full support
  • Attend external training via day or block release
  • Contribute positively to the team\’s collaborative working environment
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality in all work
  • Progress towards increasing responsibility as experience develops

Requirements
Candidates should be committed to a career in accountancy and actively studying or planning to study for the AAT or ACCA qualification. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly are all highly desirable. Previous office or finance experience is helpful but not essential.
This role could suit someone who has worked as a finance assistant, trainee accountant, or accounts junior.
