The Growth Company (GC) is hiring an Outreach Caseworker to cover the North Yorkshire area to work within probation and HMP prisons.
You will be dual trained as a Caseworker and Activity Facilitator, providing advice, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to a caseload of participants via regular 1:1 meetings and group interventions as appropriate.
This role will be based at Leeds and Huddersfield Activity Hubs, with travel to outreach venues in North Yorkshire.Harrogate, Skipton, Northallerton andsupport at HMP Wealstun, Leeds
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess individual learning needsand develop tailored action plans.
- Design and deliver training sessionsand interventions for participants.
- Establish rapport and supportive relationshipswith participants.
- Assist participants in accessing and utilising informationeffectively.
- Document activities and progressin the CRM system, coordinating subsequent actions.
- Guide participants in implementing future plansand courses of action.
- Create and prepare learning materials.
- Lead group learning sessionsto enhance communication, social skills, and employability.
About You:
- Experience working with offenders or marginalised individuals in training, guidance, advice, and counselling.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment, focusing on successful outcomes.
- High-level guidance skills for one-to-one and group sessions.
- Warm, approachable, and empathetic style to build supportive relationships.
- Must have a clean driving licence and own transport.
Skills Required:
- Experience in supporting individual progression is most important.
- Knowledge of issues affecting offender rehabilitation and desistance theory.
- Familiarity with National Probation Services, HM Prison environments, and local/national training and employment opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
