Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. We are looking for an enthusiastic Democratic Services Officer to work as part of the shared Democratic Service for Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Councils.
The Democratic Services team provides a professional and friendly service to elected Councillors across two district Councils. Prior experience in Democratic Services is not essential but you will need to be organised, have good communication and team working skills and have a flexible attitude. Availability to attend evening meetings will be essential as will be an ability to use video conferencing software such as Microsoft Teams.
Your main duties will be to support the Executive Committee and any associated meetings. However, you will also be expected to support the wider Democratic Services Team. You will be required to take minutes, compile agenda packs and on occasion to write reports. We do hold a number of informal meetings remotely and you will need to be able to organise and facilitate these meetings virtually. Therefore, you must have excellent IT skills and an ability to learn how to use the modern.gov committee management system.
Interviews will be held in July 2025. Successful applicants will be required to deliver a presentation at the interview and to complete a comprehension test.
