Our client is a high-end vehicle conversion company, their work ranges from full conversions and custom builds. They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join their team on a permanent basis (following the usual probationary period). This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a long established, market leading company.
PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- Previous experience of working in a vehicle workshop environment, dealership or franchise environment (VW/Audi background is preferred).
- Proficient in the use of air and power tools.
- You are fully qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Vehicle related subject.
- A full UK Driving licence is essential.
Desirable:
- Ability to use diagnostic software such as ODIS / VCDS would be beneficial.
- Fork lift truck training would be an advantage, but not essential.
This role would suit someone who has recent experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic / Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Assembly Operative / Vehicle Assembler / Coach Builder / Vehicle Conversion Technician / Motorhome Fitter / Caravan Assembler / Mechanical Fitter / Automobile Mechanic / Auto Electrician.
Responsibilities:
- Tyre fitting and wheels balancing.
- Audio media upgrades.
- Carrying out electrical work as and when required.
- Removal and re-fitting of brake calipers.
- 4 Wheel alignment.
- Installation of diesel heaters.
- Suspension upgrades including installing lowering springs, coil over and air suspension.
- Fitting of water tanks, leisure batteries and seating brackets for campervan conversions.
- Carrying out diagnostics and fault finding.
- Liaising with customers if required.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am 5pm, & Friday 8am 4pm (paid until 5pm)
Salary: Depending on experience (likely between GBP30k – GBP33k) + Performance bonus
