This prestigious offshore firm has a reach that spans multiple jurisdictions worldwide. Its Jersey office ranks among the market leaders across its core practice areas, including Corporate/M&A where it fields an impressive team that advises on many of the biggest and best deals in the jurisdiction. As part of its ongoing growth plans, it is keen to speak with newly qualified/junior lawyers with at least one corporate seat and ideally some exposure to M&A work.

The firm encourages lawyers at all levels to take on responsibility and to be client facing making it a strong move for someone who is ambitious and looking to fast-track their development. In the longer term, opportunities for progression through the ranks are excellent, whether in the Channel Islands or further afield, and experience gained here will be highly marketable in the City if you decide to return onshore.

The Channel Islands

For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big-ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.
