Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Cargo Team Leader to join Cargo team and play a vital part in our busy and expanding operation.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead a team making sure incoming as well as outgoing cargoes are managed to the highest standard and in line with procedures, processes and health and safety standards. The role is working 40 hours per week.

Duties

  • Support the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse.
  • Lead a team of warehouse operatives in achieving business targets.
  • Provide line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met.
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
  • Maintain a thorough check of all dispatches and documentation for trucks being loaded.
  • Understand working in a safe and controlled manner and adhere to health and safety standards and policies.
  • Unload and load deliveries.
  • Make sure that documentation is filed in accordance with normal stores practice.
  • Where applicable be familiar with the operation of the forklift truck.
  • Maintain the warehouse area so it is always kept clean.

Experienced Required: (Training will be given)

  • Experience of working within a warehouse team leader role.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Well organised.
  • High attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Previous experience of working within a cargo industry.

You’ll need to adopt a flexible approach to your working hours, at present this opportunity is for four shifts on then four shifts off. This includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts start times may vary in length depending on the demands of the Operation.

Salary – £29,141.80 for 40 hours a week, which involves shift working.

**Please note that the pay award for April 2025 has yet to be agreed. Your salary will increase to the agreed rate and backdated to 1 April 2025 (or your start date if after 1 April 2025) once negotiations have concluded**
