A quick look at the role.

Help us make a difference as an Industrial Chemist. You will visit customer locations in order to identify, list and prepare for safe onward transport, all waste streams as required by the customer. This will involve handling small containers of chemicals and packing them into larger containers and placing them on pallets to prevent damage during transport.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Undertaking work at other facilities including customers premises. This may involve travelling and nights out.
  • Providing technical assistance, waste packing and collection services to customers.
  • Maintaining necessary documentation and inspect wastes for conformity and container integrity prior to movement.
  • Gathering and recording sufficient detail that, where feasible, waste can be compliantly removed on the day to a suitable facility.
  • Transferring sufficient detail to company systems that will allow waste to be accepted onto site and processed.
  • Creating load plans to aid drivers segregate incompatible chemicals for transport.
  • Undertaking liquid pumping services from damaged / unsuitable containment into suitable containers to facilitate subsequent removal of waste from site to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Responding to sales enquiries ensuring timely turnaround in the costing of work where you have visited a site. Based on information supplied by sales / customer services advise them on the time / volumes of packing materials involved in undertaking any given Hazpack work that will assist in providing costing’s for provision of this services to a customer site.

Our essential requirements:

  • HNC Chemistry qualification.
  • Knowledge & understanding of the hazards associated with chemical functional groups and relevant laws.
  • Knowledge & understanding of the chemical hazards associated with COSHH symbols and associated road transport diamonds.
  • Full UK valid driving licence.
