We’re looking for an HR Specialist to join our team and play a key role in driving HR initiatives and supporting both technician and office-based employees. This is a broad and varied role for someone who excels in managing the full employment lifecycle, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Employment Lifecycle Management
- Own onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day HR operations for technicians and office staff.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure proper documentation and data accuracy in HiBob (HRIS).
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Partner with hiring managers to deliver end-to-end recruitment.
- Support the timely mobilisation and demobilisation of technicians.
- Manage role approvals and alignment with workforce plans.
Compensation & Benefits
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers.
- Support salary benchmarking and appraisal processes.
HR Compliance & Policy
- Stay current with UK employment laws and collective agreements.
- Maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, and employment contracts.
Employee Relations
- Provide advice and support on employee relations, including grievances and conflict resolution.
- Work with unions and lead/support collective agreement negotiations.
HR Business Partnering
- Act as a key HR point of contact for both technicians and office teams.
- Guideline managers on performance, development, and people strategy.
Training & Development
- Coordinate training plans and workshops for operational and office staff.
- Support performance reviews and team development.
Strategic HR Projects
- Lead or support HR projects focused on engagement, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Optimise use of systems (e.g., HRIS) and track project outcomes.
You Are
- A confident HR professional with experience in both strategic and operational HR, ideally within technical or industrial environments.
- Experienced in managing the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding for both office staff and field-based personnel.
- Skilled in employment law, collective bargaining agreements, and union negotiations, with a solid understanding of compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- A strong communicator and trusted partner to line managers, capable of advising on complex HR matters and driving people initiatives that align with business goals.
- Proficient in HR systems (e.g., HiBob) and Microsoft Office, with a data-driven mindset and a passion for process improvement.
- Adaptable, pragmatic, and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and regions.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in both technical and office environments.
- Proven knowledge of employment law, union interactions, and collective agreements.
- Experience using HRIS systems (preferably HiBob) and strong MS Office skills.
- Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus.
