Key Responsibilities

Main Purpose of Job:

The primary purpose of this role is to leverage advanced, in-depth professional knowledge and acumen in financial planning and analysis.

This role is responsible for acting as a financial business partner to Research and Business Functions, providing support in financial matters, tracking actual spend against budgets, and maintaining up-to-date forecasts.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and insights to enable informed decision-making.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for Research and Business functions, providing support as needed.
  • Lead monthly accrual processes with Research and Business Functions, ensuring compliance with SOX.
  • Hold regular meetings with budget owners to review spend on programs, projects, and CapEx.
  • Provide advice and support to improve cost controls and resource allocation.
  • Engage with stakeholders and develop relevant metrics to support targets.
  • Assist in financial modeling, budget appraisal, and developing business cases.
  • Own the annual budgeting and re-forecasting processes, contributing to long-range planning.
  • Discuss Budget Holder reports regularly with owners.
  • Provide monthly variance analysis reports for group expenditure.
  • Support the Financial Reporting team with program progress data for month-end close.
  • Coordinate with the Financial Reporting team to align systems and ensure proper approvals.
  • Understand and track the financial impact of external contracts and support pre-agreement analysis.
  • Lead timesheet compliance reporting and CapEx management.
  • Collaborate with HR to monitor headcount metrics and plan accordingly.
  • Support FP&A process coordination with Budget Holders.
  • Propose process improvements for the FP&A function.
  • Apply knowledge of Immunocore’s financial policies to guide business decisions.
  • Maintain industry knowledge, especially in Life Sciences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor\’s degree and 5+ years of related experience or equivalent.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experience with finance systems and process analysis.
  • Experience working cross-functionally on finance projects.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with ERP/Accounting systems.
  • Proven process improvement track record.
  • Preferred: Industry experience in high-tech organizations; experience with NetSuite and Oracle EPM.
