Do you want to make a difference in keeping Hampshire and the Isle of Wight safe?

We are currently recruiting for a Crime Standards Strategic Manager to act as the Force lead on standards of crime & incident recording, and represent the constabulary at a national, regional and local level.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the data and compliance with Force and national requirements. You will also be managing the Force Incident & Crime Auditing Section and the Crime Incident Management Unit.

Your role on any day may include:

  • Leading a large team of mainly police staff who are shift workers (and all the line management responsibilities that sit alongside that)
  • Ensuring the integrity of crime data for the force, managing the demand into the teams and reporting into force governance boards.
  • To challenge and influence changes in national guidelines and oversee the effective and efficient roll-out of these to the Force.

4. To provide specialist advice and knowledge to programme/project teams, steering groups and those developing policy and procedures which affect crime & incident recording practices.

5 . To consult with stakeholders to ensure that the products and services provided by the department continue to meet the changing needs of the force and external agencies (e.g. HMICF&RS).

Do you have a working knowledge of serious crime investigations, crime and incident recording and Home Office Guidelines?

Are you experienced in conducting investigations and audits to improve performance and quality?

Do you have proven management experience, including management of staff (sickness monitoring, appraisals, development etc)?

Are you educated to QCF Level 6 or have relevant experience that would equate to this level?
