Head of Performance Strategy
12-Month FTC | London | Hybrid Working | up to £90,000
The Opportunity
I’m working with a brilliant, fully independent media agency that’s known for its creative thinking, progressive culture, and integrated approach to media strategy.
They’re looking for a Head of Performance Strategy to join the team on a 12-month FTC. This is a senior role that sits at the intersection of performance marketing and broader comms strategy, perfect for someone who’s as comfortable in the detail of digital channels as they are in big-picture thinking.
You’ll lead performance strategy across search, social, programmatic, and more, while acting as a connector between the performance planning team and the comms strategists to make sure media decisions are cohesive, innovative, and effective.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading performance strategy across key accounts – You’ll shape joined-up, data-informed strategies that deliver measurable impact, connecting performance thinking with broader campaign narratives.
Bringing innovation into play – Whether it’s emerging retail media formats, advanced use of first-party data, or creative ways to use TikTok or YouTube — you’ll push the team to test and learn, not just rinse and repeat.
Working cross-functionally – You’ll act as the glue between performance specialists and comms planners, ensuring strategies aren’t developed in silos and that everything ladders up to clear client goals.
Using data to tell stories and guide decisions – You won’t just report numbers, you’ll help clients and internal teams understand what’s working, what’s not, and where to go next. Attribution, forecasting, incrementality, all part of the toolkit.
Team mentoring & thought leadership – You’ll lead and inspire a team of ambitious channel experts, helping them think beyond platform-level tactics and into strategic, client-focused thinking.
Client engagement & collaboration – This is a senior client-facing role, you’ll present strategic recommendations, support long-term planning, and collaborate closely with media owners and internal teams.
What They’re Looking For
- A strong background in performance marketing, with experience leading strategy across multiple channels (paid search, social, programmatic, affiliate, etc.).
- Someone who knows their way around data, platforms, and tools — but also sees the bigger picture.
- Experience working in a media agency environment, ideally with both brand and performance-led clients.
- A naturally collaborative person who enjoys working across teams to build smarter, joined-up campaigns.
- Confidence in working directly with senior stakeholders — both internally and externally.
- Passion for innovation and a forward-thinking view on where performance media is heading.
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, I’d love to speak.
