Our insurance client is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join its collaborative Compliance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to play a key role in supporting regulatory transformation and assurance across UK and international operations.
Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will provide advisory and operational support on regulatory matters, financial crime, sanctions, and compliance monitoring. The role includes responsibility for licensing and regulatory obligations across a global book of business, including SM&CR applications, policy reviews, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality compliance advice and assurance
- Manage non-UK regulatory license renewals and reporting
- Lead SM&CR/SMF applications and assessments
- Maintain regulatory returns calendar and policy management systems
- Support financial crime and sanctions processes
- Contribute to Board-level compliance reporting and MI
- Champion a culture of risk awareness and regulatory excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in a Compliance function within the general insurance sector
- Strong understanding of second-line functions in financial services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty and SM&CR
- Legal qualifications (LLB, GDL, LPC) are desirable but not essential
