Visum Recruitment has the pleasure of working with a leading distribution company who are seeking a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing hydraulic systems for a range of industrial and engineering projects. This role requires a solid understanding of hydraulic principles, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.This role could be remote but must be commutable to Liverpool, Durham, Bradford or Leeds once a month.
Hydraulic Design Engineer Job Overview
- Design and develop hydraulic systems, including HPUs, pipework, and system modifications
- Perform hydraulic calculations, simulations, and schematic drawings
- Support sales tenders with BOMs, pricing, and time estimates
- Produce CAD models and detailed engineering drawings (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Validate designs and check schematics/manifolds produced by peers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into overall project designs
- Lead or support system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Prepare technical documentation, including O&M manuals and works instructions
- Train and support workshop technicians and site service engineers
Hydraulic Design Engineer Job Requirements
- HNC or higher in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in hydraulic system design
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and hydraulic schematic software
- Full UK driving licence
