Key Accountabilities:
The ROV Hydraulic/Tooling Technician will be part of a small and dedicated team tasked with the support of workshop operations, aiming to achieve precise and prompt execution of scheduled maintenance and repairs for ROV systems, tooling, and related equipment. Additionally, this role involves contributing towards continuous improvements of the ROV systems, tooling, and workshop facilities. Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Execute ROV operations following approved procedures, Film-Ocean\’s HSEQ policies, and objectives
- Completion of system and project documentation (e.g., inventories, weekly ROV/safety reports, dive and video logs) as guided by the workshop supervisor and project team.
- Perform maintenance on ROV systems, LARS, and tooling as per Film-Ocean\’s onshore maintenance schedules.
- Support project and technical teams in the integration, fitting, and testing of ROV tooling
- Manage tooling and hydraulic project testing programs
- Service, refurbish, and prepare the Film-Ocean ROV tooling fleet for deployment
- Provide technical assistance to offshore crews as needed
- Ensure all workshop hydraulic equipment is fully operational, secure, and well-maintained
- Update maintenance records as required.
- Conduct stocktaking and manage inventory for ROV system spares and consumables
- Offer support and mentorship to workshop apprentices and ROV trainees
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping in the workshop and yard areas
- Undertake any other associated tasks as the Company may reasonably require.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferably qualified in an engineering discipline
- Time-served and industrial trained in either mechanical or hydraulic background
- Candidates should possess the ability to understand detailed engineered drawings including hydraulic and basic electrical schematics
- Experience working with Work Class ROV systems and Subsea Tooling
- Knowledge of electronics is advantageous but not essential
- Environmental training general awareness
- Safety training general awareness.
