About the Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-focused Quantity Surveyor to join our team, supporting a wide range of high-voltage (HV) electrical utility projects. Working primarily on electrical infrastructure (90%+), including substations, HV cabling, and power distribution works , you will play a critical role in the commercial and contractual management of NEC-based contracts.
This position offers a blend of traditional Quantity Surveying duties with a strong emphasis on estimating, take-offs, and accurate measurement , supporting the project lifecycle from tender through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects under NEC3/4 contracts .
- Undertake detailed measurement and take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Assist with estimating and cost planning for electrical works including HV cabling, substations, and associated civil packages.
- Monitor project costs and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment, and variations.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for procurement and cost management.
- Support the project delivery team in financial reporting and contract compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ yearsβ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in the electrical utilities or power sector .
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts is essential.
- Experience with electrical estimating, measurement, and cost planning is required.
- Proven ability to work on HV infrastructure such as substations, power cabling , and DNO connections.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial reporting skills.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
