gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Paint Sprayer (Aerospace) to work at their facility based near Darwen
Performance Objectives
- Prepare surfaces of aerospace components by cleaning, masking, and sanding to ensure proper paint adhesion.
- Mix and apply primers, paints, and coatings using spray guns and other application equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain and operate paint spray equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly calibrated.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects, such as runs, sags, or unpainted areas, and perform touch-ups as necessary.
- Work with quality control to ensure finished products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilation systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly disposing of hazardous materials according to regulations.
- Keep accurate records of materials used, processes followed and completed work.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Person Specification
- 2+ years of experience in industrial painting, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of various coatings, including primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes used in aerospace applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Proficiency with paint spray guns, mixing equipment, and other tools used in the painting process.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to paint application and hazardous materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, wear a respirator, and work in a paint booth environment.
