Role
We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall’s most excluded and disadvantaged individuals. Successful candidates will join the Individual Placement and Support Employment Specialist team.
Our aim is to support clients in finding the right path to regain employment, and you will be part of an enthusiastic team dedicated to making a difference. The role requires coverage of the West of Cornwall, based out of our Penzance office.
Daily responsibilities may include assisting clients with CV writing, interview techniques, and liaising with potential employers. Our IPS team focuses on increasing employment among clients of our drug and alcohol support services. This is a rewarding opportunity to impact lives positively. Flexibility, curiosity, and good listening skills are essential, as each individual is treated uniquely. You will need to work in the community, so a full UK driving license and access to a car are required.

The person
- Experience with recruitment processes and employability skills development
- Significant experience helping individuals facing severe labour market disadvantages to find or retain employment
- Full UK driving license and access to a car
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including employers, partner agencies, clients, and their families or carers
- Experience in multi-agency partnership working
- Knowledge of best practices in addiction, employability, and employment services
- Understanding of issues faced by people in treatment or recovery in the job market
- Broad knowledge of various occupations and jobs
- Leadership and motivation skills, with the ability to nurture and encourage clients
- Strong IT skills, preferably in Google Workspace
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Flexibility to work from different locations and outside regular hours as needed
