About the role

Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.

We are looking to recruit a Learning and Basic Skills Support Assistant (LABSSA) to join our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team for 34 hours a week, during term time, on a permanent basis.

The role involves visiting Ceredigion primary and secondary schools to support staff in delivering high standards of intervention programs.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • visit schools to observe and/or deliver intervention sessions with pupils
  • monitor and provide feedback on intervention standards
  • offer advice and model strategies and resources to meet learners’ needs, raising standards and ensuring progress

We seek candidates with:

  • experience leading interventions within Ceredigion schools
  • experience working with pupils with additional learning needs
  • attendance and certification in relevant training courses such as:
  • Catch Up and/or Reading with Understanding intervention
  • Personal Dictionaries intervention
  • Sensory Circuits intervention

Additionally, a degree of fluency in Welsh is required.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 34 hours pro rata over 5 days during school term time.
