We are inviting applications for the role of Domain Trainee / Management Trainee – London Market Underwriting.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams and managing service level targets for the P&C Insurance Business. You will facilitate goal creation aligned with business objectives and work with managers to cascade these goals to all associates. You will guide the talent identification and development process for the team, focusing on business challenges and utilizing analytics and technology.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Market Reform Contract (Slip), its sections, and details such as written line, Sign Line, etc., as well as carrier-generated policy documentation.
- Exposure to the London Market, including Company and Bureau markets, is preferable.
- Lead teams and manage service level targets. Provide mentorship to direct reports, including Domain Experts and Assistant Managers.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on trends in key underwriting performance drivers.
- Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly discussions on operations with UK partners.
- Understand risks faced by the function and the controls in place to mitigate these risks.
- Ensure clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area.
- Work effectively in a team environment, exercising good judgment.
- Collaborate with senior management and peers on strategy development and execution planning.
- Approve hiring and redeployment requests within the group.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate in any stream except Technical.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of the underwriting lifecycle. Demonstrate customer focus, partnership, accountability, initiative, and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Certification in one of the streams such as CII London (ALMI, FIT, or Cert CII), AINS, or CPCU.
- Ability to think strategically and operationally for the long term.
- High customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with full understanding of UK insurance underwriting and claims cycle dynamics, including Lloyd’s market.
- Strong statistical knowledge.
- Highly motivated and achievement-oriented.
