Gap Personnel Gloucester is recruiting for a Skilled Machinist/Yard Operative. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Timber Machinist/Yard Operative, confident operating panel saws, crosscut, straight line multi rip saws, and moulders.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Cut timber accurately and efficiently to maintain workflow
- Machine softwood and hardwood for stock and special orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure production efficiency
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping at all times
- Machining and professional packaging of quality products
- Assist colleagues in preparing products for customer deliveries
- Adhere to health & safety guidelines, working safely to protect colleagues, customers, stock, machinery, and premises
- Use industrial and hand-cutting tools carefully and precisely
Candidate requirements:
- Organized, hardworking, and efficient
- Positive attitude with a can-do approach
- Experience in a timber yard or wood cutting environment
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
Working hours:
- Full-Time
- Monday – Friday: 07:30 am – 4:30 pm
