Applications are invited from qualified and experienced administration candidates to join our busy administration teams. We currently have the following Administration Assistant post in Sunderland older adults team.

the team is based at Monkwearmouth hospital and is a full time role working over 5 days.

This is a very busy service and the successful post holder will be a member of the admin team to support the multi-disciplinary clinical teams to provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service at all times. The post holder must facilitate excellent customer service and be confident in dealing with service users face to face as well as on the telephone.

Candidates must have proven recent 12 month experience of the following:

  • Experience in working in a customer / patient focused environment (face to face/telephone/reception)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Database inputting
  • Electronic filing systems
  • Microsoft word/excel/powerpoint/office packages including email
  • Fast, accurate typing/keyboard skills
  • Typing letters
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
  • Well organised and structured
  • Ability to change tasks at short notice
  • Reliable and punctual
  • The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.

You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification. If you do not meet this criteria you will not be shortlisted.
