Have you recently completed a PhD in Geochemistry, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field? Are you immediately available and looking to work with an innovative sustainability focussed start-up?

An innovative start up are currently seeking a Geochemist to join the team, initially on a Part Time Temp basis, with opportunities to go permanent. This will be a highly autonomous role where you will be working independently in a shared Lab Space. You will be involved in initial lab set up, as well as responsible for running a variety of experiments related to geochemistry and sustainable mining.

Role Overview

  • Initially Temporary and Part Time, with opportunity to go permanent.
  • 3 days (c25 hours) per week. Flexibility on exact days each week. Β£16-18ph DOE.
  • Based in shared Lab Space in North Oxford.
  • Independently utilise a variety of analytical techniques and instruments to conduct experiments centred around leaching and metal recovery in sustainable mining.
  • Utilise Wet Chemistry Techniques and a variety of lab bench equipment (pH Meters, Ovens, Pressure Vessels, balances, hot plates etc)
  • Maintain and manage the lab to a high standard.

Requirements

  • PhD in Geochemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a similar , closely related field.
  • Strong practical lab skills (wet chemistry, utilisation of standard bench equipment)
  • Autonomy – Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
  • Must be available to begin early august 2025 (ideally w/c 4th)
